About Us

Voila!

We are two recent graduates with degrees in Public Policy in our mid-twenties. We were both born and raised in China, although in two cities that are far from each other. Yushen W. is from a northern city by the ocean, and Qing is from a central city by the longest river in China, the Yangzi River. It’s safe to assume we both love water and fish. 🙂

We met at a random gathering in the middle of 2015 searching for career opportunities like what most people do in their 20s. It might be the mutual sympathy we have for each other as Chinese people studying public policy in the U.S. and unemployed, somehow we managed to keep in touch, and after a while, we realized we get along pretty well.

Currently, Yushen is doing an internship with a NGO and Qing is working on education related stuff. In a recent conversation, we both expressed the dire need of some intellectual stimulation, and hence this blog. Knowing that keeping up with something without a strong push externally (e.g. a deadline from a professor) can be hard at times, we will try our best to keep our promise of writing something meaningful and interesting (or not) every month. We welcome all criticism and conversations.
